Clinical/Health Care Research Nurse – ICTS Coordinator

About the role

The Clinical/Health Care Research Nurse will join the Institute for Clinical and Translational Science (ICTS) team at the University of Iowa. This full‑time position supports the design, execution, and oversight of clinical research trials, contributing directly to ICTS’s mission of accelerating translational science.

Key responsibilities

• Screen patients for eligibility, obtain informed consent, and educate them on study details.
• Assist in the design, development, and administration of research protocols.
• Recruit, enroll, and schedule participants for trial‑related procedures.
• Collect, enter, and manage data in clinical research trial systems.
• Develop, test, and maintain regulatory documentation and submit required filings.
• Support budget development and administration for studies.
• Mentor new students and staff under supervision.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent education/experience.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience or 1 year of clinical research experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with patients, families, and research teams.
