About the role
Texas A&M AgriLife Research is hiring an Assistant Professor in Forest Ecology and Modeling. This 12‑month, non‑tenure‑track faculty position is based at the Blackland Research and Extension Center in Temple, Texas, with academic affiliation to the Department of Ecology and Conservation Biology at Texas A&M University.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and lead an externally funded research program focused on the sustainability, health, productivity, and marketability of forested landscapes.
- Conduct interdisciplinary research in forest ecology and ecological modeling.
- Collaborate with faculty and researchers across Texas A&M AgriLife Research, Extension, and the Texas A&M Forest Service.
- Publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present at scientific conferences.
- Mentor graduate students and contribute to the academic community.
Required profile
- Ph.D. in forest ecology, ecological modeling, or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to secure external research funding.
- Strong record of scholarly publications and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to applied forest science.
