Assistant Professor – College of Nursing (Tenure‑Track)

About the role

This tenure‑track position joins the College of Nursing at Prairie View A&M University. The Assistant Professor will collaborate with faculty to implement and enhance graduate nursing curricula, delivering both classroom and clinical instruction.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate implementation of program curricula across theory and clinical components.
• Develop and deliver innovative classroom and clinical learning activities.
• Plan, teach, and evaluate assigned courses, including practice and clinical courses.
• Assist in curriculum development, monitoring, and accreditation reporting for baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral programs.
• Serve as academic advisor and research mentor to students and faculty.
• Participate in university committees, faculty organizations, and professional nursing associations.
• Maintain an active research agenda, publish scholarly work, and seek collaborative opportunities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner) and a PhD or equivalent doctorate in a nursing specialization.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Experience in classroom and/or clinical nursing education.
• Demonstrated scholarship in nursing research, grant writing, or related activities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of state‑of‑the‑art teaching methodologies.
• Familiarity with accreditation standards (AACN, ACEN, NLN, NONPF).
• Ability to develop and assess clinical learning experiences.
