Assistant Lecturer – Remote Pilot (Aviation Science)

About the role

The Sciences and Mathematics Department at Texas A&M University‑Central Texas seeks an Assistant Lecturer to teach remote pilot aviation courses. This full‑time, two‑year fixed‑term position begins Fall 2026 and supports the growing demand for drone pilots in Central Texas and the military.

Key responsibilities

• Teach selected remote pilot courses in face‑to‑face and hybrid formats on a 10‑week schedule.
• Develop and maintain course syllabi, instructional materials, and assessments aligned with CEU standards.
• Hold regular office hours and provide academic advising and career mentorship to students.
• Submit syllabi, attendance records, grades, and required reports promptly.
• Participate in curriculum development, ensuring alignment with FAA regulations and industry standards.
• Stay current with remote pilot aviation knowledge, instructional practices, and industry developments.

Required profile

• Authorized to work for any U.S. employer.
• Demonstrated experience in remote pilot aviation and familiarity with FAA regulations.
• Prior teaching or lecturing experience, preferably in higher‑education or continuing‑education settings.
• Ability to develop CEU‑compliant course materials and assess student performance.
