911 Dispatcher – Emergency Services

About the role

The City of Jersey Village is seeking dedicated 911 Dispatchers to handle emergency calls, assess situations, and coordinate the dispatch of Police, Fire, and EMS resources. This critical position demands quick thinking, clear communication, and composure under pressure.

Key responsibilities

• Answer emergency calls promptly and gather essential information.
• Assess the nature and severity of each call to determine the appropriate response.
• Dispatch Police, Fire, and EMS units efficiently and accurately.
• Provide pre‑arrival instructions such as CPR and first aid when needed.
• Maintain accurate records of calls, dispatches, and related activities.
• Coordinate communication between responders and other agencies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to stay calm and focused in high‑pressure situations.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Pass a background check and drug screening.

Required skills

• Proficiency in operating computer‑aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
