Visiting Researcher – Clinical & Basic Science

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a Visiting Researcher to support clinical and basic science projects within the Department of Neurosurgery. The position offers the opportunity to work alongside faculty in both clinic and operating‑room settings, focusing on observational research activities.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in clinical and laboratory research initiatives.
• Shadow faculty members during clinic visits and surgical procedures without direct patient contact.
• Observe operating‑room activities without scrubbing in.
• Utilize view‑only access to the Epic electronic health record system for data extraction and analysis.

Required profile

• Medical Doctor (MD) degree or post‑doctoral researcher with demonstrated research experience.
• Must be fully vaccinated against Covid‑19 or hold an approved exemption.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States on the start date.
