About the role
We are seeking a Vice President of Sales to lead the commercial organization of a century‑old, privately‑held industrial manufacturing company. The role reports to ownership and combines strategic growth planning with hands‑on field presence across multiple sectors.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute a multi‑year growth plan to add $1‑2 M of incremental revenue within 12‑24 months.
- Lead a distributed network of 75+ independent contractor salespersons and an internal sales team, establishing territory plans, accountability structures and performance metrics.
- Maintain and expand strategic accounts through regular travel and direct relationship management.
- Act as the primary conduit for commercial intelligence, translating customer insights into actionable initiatives for the owners.
Required profile
- 10+ years of B2B sales leadership experience in lubricants, specialty chemicals, or industrial manufacturing.
- Proven track record managing independent contractor sales networks with built‑in accountability and performance‑driven culture.
- Experience working in family‑owned or closely held businesses and understanding their unique dynamics.
- Data‑informed, relationship‑first leadership style that balances metrics with deep customer engagement.
