Vice President of Quality Assurance

About the role

The company is building a next‑generation Li‑ion battery and energy storage platform for defense, aerospace and other mission‑critical applications. It seeks a Vice President of Quality Assurance to lead and scale the quality organization across manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a quality strategy aligned with business and production goals.
• Build, lead and develop a high‑performing QA/QC organization.
• Establish a culture of quality ownership, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Develop and maintain a scalable Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and ISO 14001.
• Lead internal and external audits, regulatory compliance activities and document control.
• Implement real‑time quality metrics, dashboards and reporting.
• Ensure quality across incoming materials, in‑process operations and final product testing using Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA and CAPA.
• Drive improvements in yield, defect reduction, scrap and product reliability.
• Support new product introduction, production ramp, Design for Manufacturability and Design for Quality.
• Lead supplier quality management, qualification, audits and performance monitoring.
• Serve as primary interface for customer quality audits and issue resolution.
• Own product safety, reliability and risk mitigation, ensuring compliance with UL, IEC and other safety standards.
