Temporary Maintenance Technician – Elements (San Jose)

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Temporary Maintenance Technician to support the Elements community in San Jose. The role involves performing technical and mechanical tasks to keep buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas clean, safe, and fully functional.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and repairing according to policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, repairs, and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by removing trash, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, general cleaning, and painting curbs and signage as needed.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts and using materials efficiently.

Required profile

• Entry‑level candidates with relatable experience in property or facilities maintenance.
• Availability to work Tuesday‑Saturday, 8 am‑5 pm, with on‑call responsibilities.
• Ability to follow safety procedures, work independently, and communicate effectively with residents and vendors.
