Student Ultrasound Technician (Temporary)

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is looking for a current student to join its ultrasound department as a temporary employee. This on‑site position supports patient care and imaging operations while providing valuable hands‑on experience in a clinical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist certified sonographers with patient preparation and positioning.
• Set up, calibrate, and maintain ultrasound equipment.
• Document imaging procedures and ensure accurate record‑keeping.
• Follow safety and infection‑control protocols.
• Support scheduling and workflow coordination for the ultrasound suite.

Required profile

• Enrolled as a student in the University of Arkansas System.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Ability to work varying shifts as needed.
• Interest in medical imaging and patient care.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of ultrasound equipment operation.
