Software Engineer – Site Reliability (Seattle)

About the role

Starbucks is looking for a Software Engineer to join its Site Reliability team in Seattle. You will help deliver high‑quality, reliable, and secure technologies that enable development teams to build, release, and operate software with confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Support development teams by resolving issues and engineering build and release processes.
• Implement service monitoring, deep telemetry, and high‑availability operational support, automating solutions across the environment.
• Build secure and compliant foundations by applying information‑security principles, maintaining secure configurations, and upholding policies and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• 0–4 years of professional software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 1+ years in systems/network administration or systems engineering with hands‑on production support (monitoring, telemetry, incident response).
• Experience coding/scripting for automation (Python, Java, Go, C/C++, Ruby, Perl).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and CI/CD or build/release tooling.
• Working knowledge of distributed systems, TCP/IP networking (DNS/routing), and SQL/NoSQL databases.
