Senior Procurement Accounting Specialist

About the role

The Senior Procurement Accounting Specialist will support the Director of Procurement and Corporate Services in managing the accounting treatment of purchase orders and related transactions. This role ensures compliance with internal policies and parent‑company standards while collaborating with Finance, Accounts Payable and business partners to drive efficiency and audit readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Code and account for purchase orders, assigning appropriate GL accounts, cost centers, and expense classifications for operating expenses, capital expenditures and fixed‑asset acquisitions.
• Provide guidance to the Accounts Payable team on PO application to invoices, ensuring timely vendor payments.
• Maintain and update procurement and accounting records, including the Transactions with Affiliates (TWA) log and related documentation.
• Develop, document and improve procurement and travel policies in line with parent‑company governance.
• Draft and coordinate internal shared‑services agreements and contracts with affiliates.
• Support internal, external and regulatory audit processes by ensuring proper documentation.
• Assist the Director in overseeing departmental processes, operations and administrative activities.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in procurement accounting or related finance functions.
• Strong understanding of purchase order lifecycle, GL coding and expense classification.
• Experience working with cross‑functional teams such as Finance, AP and internal business partners.
• Ability to interpret and apply corporate policies and governance requirements.
• Detail‑oriented mindset with a focus on internal controls and audit preparedness.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Concur expense reporting system.
