Senior Payroll Tax Services Representative

About the role

The Senior Payroll Tax Services Representative acts as the subject‑matter expert for clients’ payroll tax compliance, overseeing end‑to‑end tax processing, reconciliation and filing across federal, state and local jurisdictions. The role also mentors junior staff and collaborates with cross‑functional teams to ensure a seamless client experience.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and process payroll tax filings for federal, state and local jurisdictions with accuracy and on‑time delivery.
• Research, interpret and communicate payroll tax regulations, staying current with legislative changes.
• Perform tax account reconciliations, identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
• Respond to tax agency notices, conduct root‑cause analysis and coordinate client responses.
• Serve as an escalation point for junior representatives on complex payroll tax matters.
• Collaborate with implementation, support and product teams to address client concerns.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• 5+ years of payroll tax processing experience with multi‑state compliance expertise.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state and local payroll tax regulations and filing requirements.
• Experience interacting directly with tax agencies on notices, audits or reconciliations.
• Proficiency with payroll software platforms; experience with Greenshades or similar SaaS solutions is a plus.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred; Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) strongly preferred.
