Purchasing Specialist (Part-Time, Hybrid)

About the role

Bechtel’s Manufacturing & Technology division is seeking a part‑time Purchasing Specialist to support its global EPC projects. The role blends telework flexibility with regular on‑site collaboration in Houston, ensuring procurement activities align with project schedules and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Create, issue, and administer purchase orders for project‑related goods and services.
• Prepare bidder lists, qualify suppliers, and assemble bid packages.
• Issue bid requests, participate in supplier negotiations, and recommend award decisions.
• Secure necessary approvals and maintain accurate procurement documentation.
• Communicate with suppliers, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with contract terms.
• Coordinate with engineering and project teams to align purchasing activities with technical requirements.

Required profile

• Experience in procurement or purchasing within an engineering, construction, or manufacturing environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid setting.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
