Purchasing Coordinator

About the role

Sweet Group of New York is seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to support subcontractor and sub‑consultant procurement across multiple construction projects. The role works closely with project managers and the contracts team to ensure timely sourcing, agreement preparation, and compliance with company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Assist subcontractors and sub‑consultants with purchasing needs for various projects.
• Guide project teams through the subcontractor approval process.
• Develop scopes of work and leveling sheets for subcontractors.
• Draft and coordinate subcontractor agreements.
• Collaborate with the legal division to review and finalize subcontract documents.
• Support the Contracts Manager with post‑award documentation related to subcontractor purchasing.
• Source construction materials from multiple vendors and maintain accurate data records.
• Provide daily administrative support to leadership as required.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience in purchasing or subcontractor procurement.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Problem‑solving mindset and adaptability.
• Team‑oriented attitude with transparent communication.
• Full‑time availability in the NYC office.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
