About the role
The Public Health Nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care to individuals, families and groups within the community. Working as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team, the role combines direct patient care with health education and community resource coordination.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate nursing care for individuals, families and groups.
- Train and supervise nursing and auxiliary personnel.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with team members and community partners.
- Function effectively as a member of a treatment team.
Required profile
- Thorough knowledge of current principles, practices and techniques of public health nursing.
- Good knowledge of community resources and administrative organization of community facilities.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions and prepare reports and correspondence.
- Strong record‑keeping and communication skills.
- Commitment to the ANA Code of professional nursing practice and sound professional judgment.
