Project Architect – Data Centers & Advanced Facilities

About the role

Jacobs is seeking a Project Architect to lead design and delivery of data center, commercial, and advanced manufacturing facilities across the United States. The role blends research, programming, planning, and design while collaborating with engineering and technical discipline leads. Candidates can work remotely with periodic visits to a local Jacobs office.

Key responsibilities

• Develop concept through construction documents for data center and high‑tech facilities.
• Coordinate zoning, building code compliance, and building systems integration.
• Mentor junior architects and designers, fostering technical growth.
• Collaborate with engineering leads to ensure design intent aligns with project goals.
• Maintain firm‑wide quality standards throughout planning, design, construction administration, and close‑out.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
• Professional Architectural License with ability to obtain licensure in multiple states.
• Minimum 5 years of professional architectural design experience.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and construction standards.

Required skills

• Expert‑level proficiency in Revit.
• Advanced skills in AutoCAD.
• Competence with SketchUp.
• Proficiency in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
