Program Associate

About the role

The Division of Agriculture of the University of Arkansas seeks a Program Associate to support field and research activities across its statewide network. This position involves hands‑on work in both station‑based and on‑farm research trials, collaborating directly with producers and research partners.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing, establishing, and managing research trials on station and farm sites.
• Collect, process, and record soil and plant data following established protocols.
• Perform field operations such as planting, fertilizing, spraying, irrigating, and harvesting.
• Support installation, calibration, and maintenance of monitoring equipment, including sensors, UAV platforms, and data loggers.
• Ensure quality control and accurate implementation of project protocols.
• Coordinate directly with producers and collaborators during on‑farm research activities.

Required profile

• Interest in agricultural research and field work.
• Ability to follow detailed protocols and maintain accurate records.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with producers and research staff.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
