About the role
The Texas A&M AgriLife Research team is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to lead an industry‑funded project focused on improving cotton production on the Texas High Plains. The role combines field experimentation, data analysis, and collaborative research to address water and nutrient challenges in a semi‑arid environment.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement regenerative cotton production systems that integrate novel irrigation and fertility strategies.
- Lead field experiments across the High Plains, collecting soil, water, plant, and climate data.
- Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and present findings at local, regional, and national meetings.
- Prepare manuscripts for submission to peer‑reviewed journals.
- Manage project timelines, coordinate with faculty, industry partners, and other collaborators.
- Perform extensive fieldwork, including travel, heavy lifting, and work in extreme environmental conditions.
Required profile
- Ph.D. in soil science, agronomy, crop physiology, or a closely related discipline.
- Research focus on nutrient management, soil‑water dynamics, or related areas.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent field research and publish scientific results.
