Pharmacist II – Inpatient Pharmacy (Overnight)

About the role

The Pharmacist II provides overnight inpatient pharmacy services at a major academic medical center. This position ensures safe, accurate, and timely medication delivery to hospitalized patients while supporting the clinical team during night hours.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, verify, and dispense medications for all inpatient units during the night shift.
• Perform medication order verification, including drug interaction and allergy checks.
• Maintain inventory levels, manage controlled substances, and ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to address urgent medication needs.
• Document all pharmacy activities in the hospital’s information system.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to safety protocols.

Required profile

• Active pharmacist license in Arkansas (or appropriate state).
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
• Experience in an inpatient or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
• Ability to work the overnight shift and handle high‑volume medication dispensing.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
