About the role

Kennesaw State University is seeking part‑time, limited‑term faculty to teach First‑Year Composition in the Department of English. This position supports the university’s mission to provide high‑impact, student‑centered learning for a diverse undergraduate population.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate First‑Year Composition courses, including lecture, discussion, and workshop formats.
• Develop and revise course syllabi, assignments, and assessment criteria.
• Provide timely feedback on student writing and facilitate peer‑review activities.
• Advising and mentoring composition students as needed.
• Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum planning, and service activities.

Required profile

• Terminal degree (Ph.D. or MFA) in English, Rhetoric, Composition, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated ability to teach composition or related writing courses at the college level.
• Strong commitment to inclusive pedagogy and student success.
