About the role
We are seeking a part‑time Adult Education Instructor to deliver workforce preparation classes at Brickeys Prison in Lee County, Arkansas. The instructor will use the statewide WAGE curriculum hosted on the Canvas learning management system and teach three days a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 9 am to 12 noon.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver WAGE (Workforce Alliance for Growth in the Economy) courses to incarcerated adult learners.
- Prepare and upload lesson materials, assignments, and assessments in Canvas.
- Monitor student progress, provide feedback, and maintain accurate attendance records.
- Collaborate with prison staff and college administrators to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree and a current Arkansas Department of Education teaching license.
- Three years of teaching experience preferred; a Master’s degree may substitute for licensure if adult‑education certification is obtained within three years of hire.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Canvas LMS.
