Operator II Packaging – 2nd Shift

About the role

Alcon is seeking a second‑shift Operator II to join its packaging line in Texas. The role involves handling complex manual and automated tasks to ensure efficient production of eye‑care products while adhering to strict quality and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot packaging equipment.
• Manage resources and schedules to meet volume, cost, waste, and quality targets.
• Move, pack, and sort raw materials or finished goods.
• Monitor output quality, identify defects, and initiate re‑work or discard as needed.
• Maintain accurate daily production records and complete required documentation (MBRs, SOPs, log books).
• Assist with material handling, sterile product assembly, and line replenishment.
• Coordinate with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Materials and other shifts to ensure smooth operations.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work the second shift in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and cGMP standards.
• Basic math and reading skills for documentation and labeling.

Required skills

• Equipment setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Material handling and sterile product assembly.
• Inspection and testing of products for quality compliance.
• Accurate documentation and record‑keeping.
