Operations Engineering Specialist

About the role

The Operations Engineering Specialist provides technical expertise to ensure smooth production and high‑quality output. Working with minimal supervision, the specialist translates customer requirements into actionable factory activities and supports new product introductions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise on materials for production and resolve customer‑identified material issues.
• Perform risk assessments, quality audits, and supplier evaluations.
• Generate and manage product specifications, conduct material qualification on prototypes, and support new product launches.
• Translate customer requirements into factory activities, estimate activity times for pricing, and develop preliminary program timelines.
• Identify and resolve process problems affecting throughput or quality, implement stabilisation solutions, and evaluate results.
• Participate in selection, specification, and qualification testing of new manufacturing equipment and upgrades.
• Gather, analyse, and convert customer data into usable manufacturing information, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Develop test processes, fixtures, specialised tools, and automate assembly/test strategies, including DFx analysis.

Required profile

• In‑depth knowledge of design processes for systems, printed circuit boards and related products.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment qualification.
• Ability to work independently, lead technical teams, and build internal and external relationships.
• Excellent analytical judgement to assess risks, quality issues and implement corrective actions.
