On‑Site IT Desktop Support Technician

About the role

The IT Desktop Support Technician provides hands‑on technical assistance to internal staff and external customers, focusing on modern device management, Windows Autopilot provisioning, and delivering a smooth out‑of‑box experience. This full‑time, on‑site position requires travel between Albuquerque, Santa Fe and surrounding areas.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Tier 1–2 desktop and endpoint support for hardware, OS, peripherals and enterprise applications.
• Manage user onboarding/off‑boarding, device setup, account access and lifecycle (deployment, refresh, return, disposal).
• Prepare, stage and configure devices using Windows Autopilot and validate OOBE readiness.
• Apply standard configurations, security baselines, updates and support Intune, MDM tools.
• Document resolutions, escalate complex issues and support audit, security and compliance requirements.
• Identify process‑improvement and automation opportunities.

Required profile

• 2+ years of field support experience in a Windows environment.
• Strong interpersonal, troubleshooting, documentation and time‑management skills.
• Ability to lift 30 lb regularly and maintain an excellent driving record for regional travel.
• Experience working in a collaborative office setting.
