About the role
Carfair Composites is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to join its production team. You will work closely with engineers and operators to develop, implement, and refine manufacturing processes that boost productivity and product quality.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in designing, installing, and optimizing manufacturing systems and processes.
- Troubleshoot production issues to minimize downtime.
- Collect and analyze production metrics and performance data.
- Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Support new product introductions by creating detailed manufacturing procedures.
- Conduct experiments and collaborate with suppliers to improve tooling and fixtures.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Document processes, improvements, and equipment maintenance.
- Provide training to production staff on new processes and standards.
Required profile
- Technical diploma or degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment providing engineering support.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with multitasking capability.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Required skills
- Proficiency with CAD software.
- Advanced use of MS Office applications.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
- Experience with fibre‑reinforced plastics (FRP) is an advantage.
