About the role
Tesla is looking for a motivated Manufacturing Engineer to develop and launch highly automated drive‑unit assembly lines in Austin, Texas. The role will involve designing equipment, optimizing processes, and ensuring safe, high‑quality production of motors, inverters, gears and gearboxes.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop new automated manufacturing lines from concept through to production.
- Optimize drive‑unit equipment and processes to improve yield, throughput, availability and reduce cost and lead‑time.
- Manage installation, qualification and ramp‑up of manufacturing lines.
- Lead validation of production processes and automated inspection tools.
- Generate machine specifications, standards and documentation.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Experience in automation equipment design and development.
- Background in manufacturing process specification and evaluation.
- Strong manufacturing data analysis capabilities.
