Maintenance Technician – Aventine Fort Totten

About the role

The Maintenance Technician will ensure that the physical aspects of the Aventine Fort Totten property—including buildings, grounds, amenities and common areas—meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety and functionality. This onsite role supports resident satisfaction and prepares vacant units for new occupants.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to resident service requests and complete work orders, diagnosing issues and performing repairs in line with safety standards and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, repairs and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document all service activities accurately and promptly for proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by removing debris, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, performing general cleaning and painting signage as required.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts whenever possible and using materials efficiently.
• Participate in safety and risk‑management meetings and adhere to Greystar’s safety policies.

Required profile

• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, plumbing, electrical and HVAC issues.
• Experience with make‑ready turnover processes and coordinating vendors.
• Strong attention to detail for documentation and inventory management.
• Commitment to safety procedures and teamwork in a property‑management environment.
