Licensed Practical Nurse – School Health Services

About the role

The Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts (ASMSA) is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to lead its health services and wellness program. The School Nurse will operate the on‑site clinic, support the residential curriculum, and ensure the health and safety of a diverse student community.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all health services for students and staff.
• Operate and maintain the school clinic in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Develop and deliver wellness initiatives and health education within the residential program.
• Provide direct patient care, including emergency response, triage, and routine examinations.
• Maintain accurate health records and ensure confidentiality.
• Collaborate with faculty, parents, and external health providers as needed.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in good standing with the Arkansas State Board of Nursing.
• At least two years of experience in community health, pediatrics, emergency care, triage, or a physician’s office (preferred).
• Excellent verbal communication and ability to address large groups.
• Strong organizational abilities and computer competency.
