Lecturer of Education (Math/STEM)

About the role

Texas A&M University–Texarkana’s Education Division is seeking a non‑tenure‑track clinical faculty member to serve as a Lecturer of Education with a focus on Mathematics and STEM. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses, mentor teacher candidates, and support the division’s clinical mission.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate courses in education and mathematics using evidence‑based instructional practices across face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online formats.
• Supervise teacher candidates during clinical placements, internships, residencies, and student‑teaching experiences.
• Mentor and advise students on academic progress, professional development, and certification pathways.
• Collaborate with K‑12 school partners to coordinate field supervision and align program objectives.
• Assess student learning and professional competencies using qualitative and quantitative data.
• Participate in curriculum refinement, assessment review, and accreditation activities.
• Contribute to division, university, and professional service consistent with a clinical faculty role.

Required profile

• Earned master’s degree in education, curriculum and instruction, mathematics education, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated ability to teach mathematics or STEM content at the undergraduate level.
• Experience supervising teacher candidates in clinical or field‑based settings.
• Eligibility to work in the United States at the time of hire; no sponsorship available.
