About the role

Mastercard’s Global Credit Card Authorization team is looking for a Lead Product Manager – Technical to shape the future of its authorization platform. Based in O’Fallon, MO, this hybrid role blends product strategy, technical design, and payments expertise to deliver secure, real‑time transaction decisioning at global scale.

Key responsibilities

• Own and define platform building blocks, including requirements, technical specifications, and user experience considerations.
• Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for credit‑card authorization capabilities.
• Apply the Working Backwards methodology to clarify product vision, customer value, and measurable outcomes.
• Translate complex business and technical requirements into well‑defined user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
• Prioritize and maintain a groomed product backlog balancing short‑term delivery with long‑term platform strategy.
• Lead elaboration and refinement sessions to ensure accurate estimation and delivery planning.
• Partner with engineering teams to deliver scalable, low‑latency, highly resilient systems.
• Continuously innovate to improve authorization performance, reliability, and approval rates.
• Integrate new capabilities into Mastercard’s broader platform ecosystem.
• Leverage data and performance metrics to inform decisions and optimize customer experience.
• Identify commercialization opportunities and collaborate with product development teams.
• Serve as a domain expert for authorization platforms and communicate vision to senior leadership.
