Lead Dental Assistant

About the role

The College of Dentistry at Texas A&M University Health Science Center is seeking a Lead Dental Assistant to join its Clinical Affairs department in Dallas. This full‑time, on‑site position supports a high‑volume dental practice and works closely with clinicians and administrative staff.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of dental assistants and support staff.
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for a variety of dental procedures.
• Maintain infection‑control standards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Manage inventory of supplies and dental instruments.
• Assist dentists with clinical procedures and patient care as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional dental‑related coursework is a plus.
• Minimum six years of experience as a registered dental assistant in a private practice, clinic, or training program.
• Prior experience in a lead or expanded‑duty dental assistant role (3‑5 years preferred).
• Strong organizational abilities and flexibility in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• CPR certified.
• Registered Dental Assistant credential.
• Knowledge of infection‑control policies and procedures.
• Familiarity with dental terminology and standardized dental procedures.
• Ability to manage supply and instrument inventory.

What we offer

• Proposed salary of $23.66 per hour.
• Full‑time schedule: Monday‑Friday, 8 am – 5 pm.
