Junior Designer – Headwear Product Design

About the role

New Era Cap is seeking a Junior Designer to support the headwear design and product development process at its Buffalo headquarters. You will work closely with the Design Director and cross‑functional teams to create tech packs, graphics, and prototypes for licensed sports and brand partner projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in design execution for specific headwear projects aligned with product plans.
• Build core design assets, tech packs, and graphic executions.
• Create prototype tech packs for program, custom, and brand‑partner headwear.
• Collaborate with Core Design, Product Line Management, Operations, and Sourcing teams.
• Understand the licensed sports marketplace and related product categories.
• Conduct custom design sessions with key accounts and retail partners.
• Meet merchandising calendar timelines and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Required profile

• Strong interest in design and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Willingness to maintain confidentiality on proprietary projects.

Required skills

• Graphic design – custom logo and wordmark creation.
• Tech pack development for headwear products.
