About the role

The IT Systems Administrator will support and maintain industrial automation and operational technology environments for a client in Rochester, NY. This position sits at the crossroads of network infrastructure, control systems, and plant reliability, ensuring seamless operation of critical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Support and maintain industrial automation systems, OT networks, and facility infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot automation, communication, and network‑related issues.
• Manage servers, perform system updates, backups, and oversee connected plant technologies.
• Support building automation, energy management, and plant control environments.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, instrumentation, and IT teams on upgrades and improvement projects.
• Monitor system performance, reliability, and cybersecurity compliance.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, uptime, and reliability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related technical field (preferred).
• 3+ years of experience supporting industrial automation, control systems, or OT environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication abilities.
