Instructor of Geosciences (Faculty Position)

About the role

Tarleton State University seeks an Instructor of Geosciences to join the Department of Chemistry, Geosciences & Physics. This 9‑month, non‑tenure‑track faculty appointment is based on the main campus in Stephenville, Texas, and may include summer teaching depending on funding.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate courses in geosciences, including lectures, labs, and fieldwork.
• Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and assessments.
• Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and service activities.
• Serve as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) as required.
• Potentially teach at other Tarleton campuses or via approved online modalities.

Required profile

• Terminal degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in geosciences or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate students effectively.
• Commitment to inclusive teaching and service to the university community.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without university‑sponsored visa assistance.
