Groundskeeper / Porter for Hawthorne Townhomes

About the role

The Groundskeeper/Porter ensures the community’s physical appearance and curb appeal are maintained to Greystar’s standards. This role supports the service team by keeping common areas clean, handling minor service requests, and assisting with apartment turn‑overs.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect the community throughout the day, removing litter, debris, and pet waste to keep all common areas and amenities tidy.
• Clear trash from vacant apartments before the make‑ready process, transport it to dumpsters or storage areas, and maintain those storage spaces.
• Complete minor and routine service requests as directed by the Service Supervisor or Community Manager and assist the make‑ready specialist during turn‑overs.
• Change locks according to property policy and ensure pool‑area gates operate safely and meet code requirements.
• Distribute resident notices and communications as needed.
• Report any hazards or potentially dangerous situations to supervisors promptly.
• Provide courteous customer service, answer resident questions, and address maintenance‑related complaints sensitively.
• Follow Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies, attend safety meetings, complete required OSHA training, and report accidents or incidents accurately.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license required to operate a golf cart on the property.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb ladders, reach, carry objects and work in confined spaces.
• Capability to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
