About the role
We are seeking a Forest Technician to support a large‑scale oak seedling experiment within the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture. The role involves hands‑on work in greenhouse facilities, field sites, and laboratory settings, providing essential support for plant physiological research.
Key responsibilities
- Plant, maintain, and monitor oak seedlings in greenhouse and field environments.
- Operate and maintain environmental control equipment such as chillers and heaters.
- Learn and apply complex physiological and microscopy techniques under supervision.
- Collect, process, and analyze experimental data.
- Assist with occasional overnight travel and field work as required.
Required profile
- B.S. degree in a natural‑resources or related field with plant biology coursework.
- Willingness to work outdoors and travel overnight.
- Ability to learn and operate analytical equipment.
Required skills
- Microscopy techniques.
- Physiological measurement methods.
- Greenhouse and environmental control equipment operation.
- Data collection and analysis.
