Executive Director, Emerging Markets Brazil Sales

About the role

Santander is seeking an Executive Director to lead its Emerging Markets Brazil Sales within the U.S. Corporate Investment Banking division. The role focuses on originating, developing, and managing senior institutional client relationships with a primary emphasis on Brazil.

Key responsibilities

• Lead institutional sales coverage for Brazil‑focused clients, including hedge funds, banks, asset managers, and other financial institutions.
• Originate new business opportunities and deepen existing relationships to drive revenue across FX, rates, credit, and Emerging Markets products.
• Provide market color, trade ideas, and strategic insight on Brazil macro‑economic trends, political developments, and market dynamics.
• Partner with trading, structuring, financing, and banking teams to deliver coordinated cross‑asset solutions.
• Identify client demand, anticipate market trends, and position Santander’s capabilities to capture new opportunities.
• Serve as senior point of contact for client coverage, ensuring high‑touch relationship management and execution.
• Expand wallet share within existing accounts while building new institutional relationships.
• Collaborate with legal, compliance, credit, and operations teams to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to team strategy and best practices.

Required profile

• Significant experience in institutional sales within Global Markets, Sales, or Trading.
• Deep knowledge of the Brazilian market and strong client relationships.
• Proven ability to work across trading, structuring, banking, legal, compliance, and operations.
• Senior‑level commercial acumen with a track record of revenue generation.
