Entry Level Engineer/Developer – Automation & IT

About the role

RoviSys is seeking an entry‑level Engineer/Developer to join its automation and industrial‑IT teams. You will work on designing, implementing and configuring automation solutions for manufacturing clients across North America, gaining hands‑on experience with control systems, software development and data integration.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop automation and electrical control systems that interface with process equipment and sensors.
• Architect end‑to‑end solutions using databases, AI, and user‑interface tools.
• Use P&ID, equipment lists and I/O lists to create control schemes and network controllers, HMIs and field devices.
• Develop quality code following RoviSys and client standards in Python, C#, VBA or related languages.
• Travel to client plants to assess existing systems, install and commission hardware and software.
• Provide real‑time, actionable information through dashboards and reports.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers and client personnel in a team environment.

Required profile

• College graduate with up to 2 years of relevant experience or co‑op background.
• Understanding of process or manufacturing systems and basic electrical or process knowledge.
• Ability to grasp information‑system architectures and a passion for networking, virtualization and cybersecurity in an industrial setting.

• DCS, PLC, Rockwell, Siemens, Emerson, Schneider, Inductive, Aveva.
• Relational databases: MS SQL Server, Oracle, OSIsoft.
• Programming/scripting: Python, VBA/VBScript, C#, Bash, Linux shell, PowerShell.
• Virtualization, networking, cybersecurity, Windows, wireless technologies.
