English Language Arts Teacher – IB MYP (Grades 7‑12)

About the role

We are seeking a certified English Language Arts teacher to join PS 195 City Honors School’s International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme. The role involves teaching grades 7‑12, fostering inquiry‑based learning, and supporting students in IB projects.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging English Language Arts lessons for grades 7‑12.
• Integrate IB command terms, rubrics and unit‑planning frameworks into instruction.
• Supervise and assess IB MYP Personal Projects and Extended Essay advisees.
• Participate in on‑site and off‑site IB training and collaborative meetings.
• Maintain classroom environment, resources and documentation of student progress.

Required profile

• New York State or Buffalo certification in English Language Arts.
• Preference for current City of Buffalo residency.
• Understanding of the IB Middle Years Programme is desirable.
• Commitment to the school’s mission of rigor, inquiry and international‑mindedness.
