Director - Project Management, Placement Agent

About the role

Our client, a leading independent placement agent in private markets fundraising, is looking for a Director to lead its Project Management team in New York. The role is senior and execution‑focused, supporting fundraising mandates across private equity, infrastructure, private credit and real estate.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multiple project‑management workstreams across concurrent fundraising mandates.
• Coordinate end‑to‑end execution of fundraising processes, timelines and deliverables.
• Oversee preparation and review of marketing materials such as PPMs, pitch decks, DDQs, data rooms and investor communications.
• Serve as primary liaison between GP clients, internal distribution teams and external service providers.
• Manage due‑diligence workflows and investor information requests throughout active fundraising cycles.
• Monitor fundraising progress and maintain detailed tracking and reporting across mandates.
• Support strategic planning and execution of investor targeting and engagement.
• Mentor and support junior project‑management team members as needed.

Required profile

• Prior experience within a placement agent (essential).
• 8–15 years of relevant experience in project management, fundraising support, investor relations or capital formation in private markets.
• Strong understanding of private equity and alternative‑investment fundraising processes.
• Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects under tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly detail‑oriented with strong organizational and execution capabilities.
• Experience interacting directly with institutional investors and GP clients.
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced qualifications are advantageous.
