Director of Facilities Engineering & Maintenance

About the role

The Director of Facilities Engineering & Maintenance leads all engineering, trade, and fleet operations for a major stadium and its practice facilities. This senior position ensures that building systems are reliable, efficient, and ready for daily activities and large‑scale events.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Manager of Engineering and oversee HVAC, plumbing, BMS/controls, and electrical systems.
• Supervise Union Carpenters and Painters in preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Manage the Mechanical/Fleet shop, including vehicle and equipment upkeep.
• Administer the stadium’s preventative maintenance program via the CMMS/work‑order system.
• Set and enforce work‑order completion standards, response times, and service levels.
• Direct pre‑game checks and ensure facilities readiness for events, acting as the primary decision‑maker during events.
• Develop asset‑lifecycle strategies and lead utilities‑optimization initiatives.
• Prepare and control operating and capital budgets, and drive capital‑planning and renovation projects.
• Establish KPIs, performance metrics, and a data‑driven maintenance culture.
• Lead staff during critical incidents and emergency situations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience managing complex building‑system operations in a large venue or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, project management, and capital‑project delivery.
• Proven ability to budget, plan, and control both operating and capital expenditures.
• Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary teams, including union trades and fleet personnel.
