Director of Construction

About the role

Stake Property Group is seeking a Director of Construction to lead all construction activities for its multifamily and mixed‑use projects in New York. This full‑time, on‑site position reports directly to senior management and is responsible for delivering projects on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee planning, budgeting, and cost control for all construction projects.
• Manage procurement processes, including vendor selection and contract negotiations.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and permitting requirements.
• Coordinate daily activities with contractors, engineers, and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor project timelines and adjust resources to meet schedule targets.
• Report progress, risks, and financial performance to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Proven experience in budgeting, cost management, and procurement for construction projects.
• Hands‑on background managing multifamily and mixed‑use assets.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; Master’s degree or professional certification is a plus.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
• In‑depth knowledge of New York building codes, safety standards, and permitting processes.
