Director, Head of Investment Products

About the role

Santander is seeking a senior executive to lead its investment product platform for the U.S. wealth management business. The role oversees both broker‑dealer (transactional) and advisory (fee‑based) channels, driving product strategy, design, and lifecycle management across a broad range of investment solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the investment product strategy aligned with wealth and legacy retail objectives.
• Own the end‑to‑end product platform across advisory and brokerage channels, ensuring consistency, competitiveness, and regulatory compliance.
• Design product architecture that supports multiple custody platforms and delivery models for a seamless advisor and client experience.
• Partner with senior leadership in Investment, Distribution, Risk, Finance, and Operations to align product strategy with business priorities.
• Oversee advisory platforms (UMA, SMA, model portfolios) and brokerage offerings (mutual funds, ETFs, equities, structured products, alternatives).
• Maintain product standards and governance across discretionary, non‑discretionary, and execution‑only environments.
• Lead the design, approval, launch, and ongoing management of all investment products and programs.

Required profile

• Senior executive with extensive experience in investment product strategy and wealth management.
• Proven ability to manage dual‑channel platforms (advisory and brokerage) at scale.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and product governance.
• Excellent collaboration skills with senior leaders across investment, distribution, risk, finance, and operations.
