About the role
Alcon is accelerating its digital manufacturing ambitions by integrating modern operational technologies with enterprise digital systems across more than 16 global sites. The Director of Enterprise Manufacturing Applications will own the strategic direction, business value, and lifecycle performance of mission‑critical applications such as MES, SCADA, CMMS, and calibration systems.
Key responsibilities
- Define the global strategy and long‑term roadmap for enterprise manufacturing applications.
- Partner with manufacturing, engineering, quality, supply chain, and IT leadership to align technology strategies with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Establish and evolve enterprise standards, architecture, and governance models for manufacturing applications.
- Monitor emerging technologies and industry trends to drive transformative solutions.
- Serve as the business/system owner for key global manufacturing applications, ensuring design, compliance, performance, and user adoption.
- Lead global planning, budgeting, and prioritization of application enhancements, upgrades, and new platform introductions.
- Drive harmonization of manufacturing workflows, data structures, and applications across all sites.
- Lead a high‑performing team to orchestrate technology strategy, program delivery, system adoption, best practices, and continuous improvement.
- Own global KPI dashboards and evolve them into predictive and prescriptive tools for metrics such as PPV, inventory, yield, OEE, and schedule attainment.
Required profile
- Proven leadership experience in enterprise manufacturing applications within a global manufacturing environment.
- Ability to define and execute long‑term technology roadmaps and governance models.
- Strong partnership skills with cross‑functional teams including manufacturing, engineering, quality, supply chain, and IT.
- Experience evaluating emerging technologies and driving digital manufacturing transformation.
- Track record of managing application lifecycles, budgeting, and prioritization of enhancements.
