Design Engineer – Industrial & Infrastructure Projects

About the role

Tata Consulting Engineers (TCE) is seeking a motivated Design Engineer to join its multidisciplinary teams working on high‑impact Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Power, and Metals projects across the United States. You will contribute to the technical quality and schedule of complex engineering tasks while collaborating with global and local experts.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership in design delivery, ensuring alignment with client expectations, regulatory standards, and best practices.
• Develop design basis, generate design options, perform optimizations, and organize critical engineering data.
• Review and coordinate design documents across multiple disciplines for consistency.
• Interface with project management, other engineering disciplines, and clients to deliver fully coordinated projects.
• Conduct quality reviews of designs produced by team members.
• Support field construction activities, including reviewing submittals, responding to client and contractor inquiries, and performing field walks as needed.
• Adopt a “digital‑by‑default” approach to enhance design efficiency and collaboration.

Required profile

• Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent engineering qualification.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering teams on industrial or infrastructure projects.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret reports, specifications, and studies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to engage with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Creative problem‑solver with a proactive, ambitious attitude.
