Cyber Threat Analyst – Remote SOC Position

About the role

Harbor IT (formerly Quadrant) is seeking a remote Cyber Threat Analyst to join its 24/7 Security Operations Center. You will work night‑shift hours (Monday‑Thursday, 6 pm‑4 am EST) monitoring and responding to security incidents for a variety of clients.

Key responsibilities

• Perform real‑time monitoring and analysis of security events from SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, host and network logs, and applications.
• Investigate, contain, and resolve security incidents within defined Service Level Agreements.
• Document findings, improve incident response procedures, and troubleshoot low‑level engineering issues.
• Escalate incidents according to process and communicate status to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with a 24/7/365 team of SOC analysts, engineering, and client teams.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship (no visa sponsorship available).
• Self‑starter with a passion for security research and hands‑on home labs.
• Willingness to work night‑shift hours and pursue relevant certifications.

Required skills

• Linux operating systems.
• IDS/IPS tools and signature‑based detection.
• SIEM platforms for log aggregation and analysis.
• Fundamental networking concepts.
• Log analysis and packet inspection.
• Vulnerability management processes.
• Scripting or development languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Penetration testing tools and knowledge of exploits.
