Construction Manager – Owner’s Representative

About the role

Amazon’s Global Engineering Services (GES) North America Design & Construction team is looking for a Construction Manager to act as the owner’s representative for new builds, retrofits, expansions and program initiatives across a defined region. You will oversee the full construction lifecycle, from design review and contractor procurement to construction execution and operational hand‑over.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as Amazon’s primary construction integrator and owner’s representative on all assigned projects.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects from design through construction completion and hand‑over.
• Review contractor bid packages, budgets and schedules; identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Own budget tracking, cash‑flow forecasting and overall cost management.
• Negotiate construction, procurement and labor contracts with developers and general contractors.
• Audit contractor performance to ensure required skills, competencies and resources.
• Coordinate permitting, regulatory compliance and approvals with Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
• Review construction documents for conformance to Amazon specifications and resolve design or schedule conflicts.
• Coach and guide developers, design engineers, contractors, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
• Champion Amazon’s safety programs and enforce a safety‑first culture.
• Maintain clear, concise communication with all internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong technical construction expertise with a disciplined approach to safety, budget and schedule management.
• Sharp commercial acumen and ability to manage multiple projects independently.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% regionally and work from a corporate office when not traveling.
• Readiness to relocate within reasonable commuting distance of the office; relocation assistance may be provided.
