Child Welfare Trainer (Off Campus)

About the role

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking a Child Welfare Trainer to deliver off‑campus training for new staff within the Division of Children and Family Services. The role focuses on preparing Social Services Specialists, Supervisors, Experts, and Assistants through classroom, lab, and field instruction.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct new‑staff training for Social Services Specialists, Supervisors/Experts, and Assistants.
• Provide instruction on the Division Information Management System (DIMS) in classroom settings, labs, and on‑site field environments.
• Offer individual consultations to new workers to develop knowledge and skills, and deliver feedback to both workers and their supervisors.
• Design and deliver identified training programs to the broader child welfare community.
• Collaborate with local university partners and DCFS staff on child welfare reform initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience in child welfare, social services, or related fields.
• Proven ability to train adult learners in both classroom and field settings.
• Familiarity with the Division Information Management System (DIMS) is preferred.
