Buyer (ENV) – Procurement & Asset Management

About the role
We are looking for an ENV Buyer to manage procurement of raw materials, packaging, supplies and fixed‑asset purchases for our manufacturing sites. The role supports production planning, quality assurance and finance teams to ensure timely delivery and cost‑effective sourcing.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in managing procurement and delivery of raw materials, packaging, and supplies for manufacturing locations.
- Negotiate and resolve day‑to‑day issues such as rush shipments, service delays, invoicing errors and quality claims.
- Coordinate inventory control parameters with the Production Manager for assigned products.
- Maintain accurate pricing within the Sage ERP system.
- Support Quality Assurance with vendor evaluations, specification updates, product qualifications and BRC requirements.
- Manage supplies for the admin office, sales & marketing, co‑pack material needs, artwork and film design related to consumer packaging.
- Initiate purchase orders and amendments as required.
- Follow‑up with manufacturing facilities on plant trials of new or revised materials.
- Identify continuous‑improvement and cost‑saving opportunities.
- Manage procurement of new fixed‑asset purchases, including quotes, approvals and delivery coordination.
- Track fixed‑asset purchases by project against budget and notify management of deviations.
- Collaborate with accounting to ensure fixed‑asset data is reflected correctly in financial statements.
- Prepare documentation for year‑end reporting of fixed‑asset purchases, orders and payments.
- Schedule meetings with up‑to‑date order and delivery information.
- Prepare monthly reports detailing material consumption and usage.
- Travel as required, including limited overnight trips.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience, preferably in a chemical or manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience managing activities within a purchasing department.
- Ability to perform essential duties and work collaboratively across functions.
- No supervisory responsibilities.
